The third edition of the Agro Belgrade fruit, vegetable, and wine fair was held at Belgrade Fairgrounds from January 27th to 29th, 2022. The event brought together more than 500 producers and buyers of fruit and vegetables, agricultural cooperatives, equipment and machinery manufacturers, seed producers, plant nurseries, plant protection and agricultural input experts, and other industry professionals. In addition to participants from Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, and Switzerland, this year’s Agro Belgrade was also attended by some 25 exhibitors from North Macedonia and Albania, whose involvement was made possible by the regional USAID Economic Development, Governance and Enterprise Growth Project.
The trade fair was accompanied by a three-day conference that focused on the trends and challenges in agricultural production. Leading industry experts spoke about current developments in the food industry, Serbia’s export prospects and position in the global market, food safety, outlook for organic production, incentive funds for small-scale farmers, and the significance of enhancing the quality of wine production in Serbia.
