Famous world taste institute from Brussels awarded 5 Serbian food products

International Taste Institute, the leader in taste evaluation and certification, awarded 5 traditional Serbian premium food products with Superior Taste Award. Prunes, light raspberry spread, cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil, raw honey with lyophilized plums and stripped ajvar received the most renowned independent certification of consumer food & drink products worldwide.

USAID Competitive Economy Project supported five export-ready specialty food producers from Serbia to select their products and apply for this taste evaluation of thousands of consumer food and drink products from nearly a hundred countries. Superior Taste Award certification is increasingly recognized worldwide by both major retailers and consumers as a proof of high-quality, and producers with awarded products gain competitive advantage in increasing sales in domestic and international markets.

Almost 200 prestigious Chefs and Sommeliers just came together to give objective and professional feedback to producers on the TASTE of their products. Chefs in famous institutions, Michelin-starred chefs, Best Sommeliers awardees, …they all blind taste the products registered by producers: products with high gustatory scores receive the “Superior Taste Award.

Representatives of domestic companies – Agranela from Valjevo, Real Red Raspberry from Becej, Ecovital from Bikić Do, Happy Honey from Belgrade/Kucevo and Strela from Leskovac will attend the award ceremony in Brussels on June 24, and will use this occasion to promote Serbian specialty food industry internationally and explore new business opportunities with chefs, sommeliers, and European retailers and distributors.
