With a strong tradition in agricultural production and an excellent geographical position, Serbia has great potential to grow the processing industry as well.
USAID Competitive Economy Project was a five and half year activity aimed to strengthen processors to increase their sales in export and domestic markets.
The Project included in the implementation all relevant stakeholders working with Serbian companies, so systemic support clusters are created. This approach is designed to also provide sustainability and replication of Project efforts to other sectors in the industry.
The primary sectors the Project worked in are fruits and vegetables processing industries, considering their high-competitiveness potential for the Serbian economy.
By improving systemic support to food producers and processors, USAID Competitive Economy Project aimed to induce export, stimulate innovation and drive investments to better position Serbian brands and products.
The Project duration was from April 2017 to September 2022.
